23 November 2011 - Going to do ...

I am going to program the Kodu to be able to swim so he can get the apples. Of course this means that the fish has to float as well so that Kodu can talk to it. I will try to program the rocks and bridge to appear and disappear depending on what Kodu is doing, but I will only do this if I have time.

My Game Design

Platform: Kodu

Format/Gametype: Adventure/Platform

What is the Goal? (What will be taught/shared/learned?) Initial Ideas: Art, Music, Biology (Nature, Foodchains, Animals, Environments), go on holidays without any plans, Language.
Audience: Anyone, for Art, Music, Biology (Nature, Food chains, Animals, Environments),Language students and for going on holidays without any plans for young people especially.
How?: I will add characters that teach simple words but it is spread out so the person has to find them. Then there will be other characters that only speak with those words and if the person has not found the teachers they will not understand the help.

Why did I choose Language?  I chose Language because I know 3: German, English ad Spanish and a little bit of French so it would be easy for me to do the language part of the game, provide me with the challenge of how I will incorporate Language into the Game. It will also be a great part of my knowledge to give to other people (especially to students) since nowadays in the international world we all should know more than one language.

How I will do it: I will make different Islands. Each main Island will have a Language as a theme. A Spanish Island, a German Island, an English Island and a French Island. There will be Instructions from other characters on the Islands telling the player what certain things mean in the language of the Island. Then one "native" character (that only speaks the language of the Island) will give instructions to the player of how to get the bridge to the next Island. This way the player has to use their memory and knowledge to get through the game.

These are posters that follow one specific format. They are three ATLs.

For this Poster I put an extra hue of blue over the whole poster and chose the layer type 'color'.  The colors are together in the color wheel triangle so they work together.

Colour Wheel

colour wheel is an  organization of color hues in a circle, that shows how primary colourssecondary colours and tertiary colours are related.

The kinds of colours:

Primary Colors: Red, Yellow, Blue. These 3 colors are the base colors for every other color on the color wheel. This is why they're called "primary." When you mix two primary colours together, you get a secondary colour.

Secondary Colors: Orange, Green, Purple. These 3 colours are what you get when you mix the primary colors together. They're between the primary colors to show what colors they're made from. Ex: Green is in-between yellow and blue. Green is made from blue and yellow.

Tertiary Colors: These are the colours that are made from one secondary and primary colour, like Red-Orange and Blue-Violet. There can be endless combinations of tertiary colors, but this depends on how you mix them.

RULES

Rule of Thirds: power shown from left to right, top to bottom. Use the grid, intersections.
Rule of Hierarchies: Objects and people above or in front have greater power and importance.
Rule of contrast: Use of darkness and brightness to emphasize objects, create mystery, sense of uncertainty, suspense.
Rule of Repetition: For emphasis and reinforcement but KISS (Keep it simple stupid/silly).

Rule of Alignment: Things are aligned with one another. No widows or orphans.
Rule of Proximity: Things are equal distances from one another, and the edges of the document.

My Second Draft contemplating Repetition:
Repetition is when someone uses one object more than once. This is used to get attention from the audience. It makes one object seem more important than the other ones. But if you over-do-it, then it is just plain annoying.
